NISSAN CW385

 

UD Nissan Diesel has just released its CW385 heavy-duty truck, with specifications designed to make it particularly suitable for local government applications .The CW385 joins the CW445 in UD’s Australian heavy-duty line-up, adding a lighter variant with a 380 hp (285 kW) power rating, a GCM of 50,000 kg and a GVM of 26,000 kg.

Configurations for the new truck include tipper and dog combinations, as a rigid truck with extended wheelbase, as a tanker, and many others .The CW385 is powered by a Nissan Diesel GE13TB 13.1 litre turbocharged and intercooled, overhead cam six-cylinder Euro 3-compliant engine with electronically controlled unit injectors .This is the same engine that is used on the CW445, and has been proven in applications throughout Australia over the past three years .Maximum power of 285 kW is delivered at 1800 rpm, with maximum torque of 1715 Nm at 1200 rpm.

The drive train consists of an Eaton Fuller RTLO 14913A 13-speed overdrive transmission coupled to a Nissan Diesel drive tandem with a six-rod suspension.wantai used trucks

It has a class-leading axle and suspension system – the same as on the larger CW445 – giving it the highest GVM of any Japanese truck in its class


The CW385 is equipped with Wabco EBS electronically controlled taper roller brakes with ABS anti-lock, plus decompression braking and a butterfly exhaust brake for added retardation.

It is also fitted with an ASR traction control system as standard to ensure power to the ground is always optimised.

Also standard on this truck (and across the UD range) is air conditioning, along with power windows, central locking and CD audio systems on most models.

The addition of the CW385 to the UD range brings its Australian line-up to nine models with 25 variants. This follows the unveiling of the rationalized and updated ADR80 UD range mid-way through 2003.
